A Japanese Approach to Khan Academy

I know this has been around for a while, but I’ve been looking at Khan Academy a lot recently, and trying to figure out how that fits into my school’s culture. I also wonder how this approach would fit the culture – it is certainly more revolutionary to expect the students to figure things out on their own. I also wonder whether this approach would take longer, at least initially, and whether it would spark calls from parents. I hope someone more knowledgeable then I has some data. Other than the data showing that the American approach is just generally less effective, I mean.
